A passively heated home that needs no heat pumps is a dream for many, but challenging to achieve in Queenstown's variable climate.
The main focus of this 3-bedroom plus sleepout home was energy efficiency while keeping the build costs down. We achieved a great result by working closely with the architect. installing windows in the right spots and using innovative ways to improve heat retention ensured the owners got the most out of the long sunshine hours.
A key feature was the expansive deck that created an outdoor/indoor flow from the open-plan living and kitchen area and made the most of the stunning views of the Remarkables. Every detail was considered and expectations were exceeded.
